Horticultural crops tackling stresses: genetic and epigenetic alterations

چکیده

Food is indispensable for fulfilling the nutritional requirements of living beings. The principal source food, nutrition and feed are horticultural commodities. Grains, pulses, fruits, vegetables, flowers, ornamental plants medicinal just a few important horticulture crops that widely grown as cash by farmers to meet these needs. However, eventually, facing major challenges enhance productivity field due changes in environmental conditions. Crops affected many stresses including both biotic well abiotic. Environmental affect overall growth, development, physiology metabolism which leads loss crop quality produce yield. Old approaches decipher mechanism stress management improvement involved with tedious experiments, long breeding programs different cultivation environments. With advancement bioinformatics next-generation sequencing technologies, it has become possible study molecular mechanisms coping stresses. It need hour investigate tolerance economically crops. This area sought attention horticulturists regions under spell alterations climate change. Thus, this review takes up genetic epigenetic aspects high-value fruit vegetable plants.

Selenium Enrichment of Horticultural Crops.

The ability of some crops to accumulate selenium (Se) is crucial for human nutrition and health. Selenium has been identified as a cofactor of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which is a catalyzer in the reduction of peroxides that can damage cells and tissues, and can act as an antioxidant. Plants are the first link in the food chain, which ends with humans. Increasing the Se quantity in pla...

Genetic and epigenetic alterations of myeloproliferative disorders.

The classical BCR-ABL negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, and primary myelofibrosis are clonal hematopoietic disorders characterized by excessive production of terminally differentiated myeloid cells. In MPN patients, the disease can progress to secondary myelofibrosis or acute myeloid leukemia. Clonal hematopoiesis, disease phenotype, and p...

Genetic and Epigenetic Alterations in Bladder Cancer

Bladder cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, with a high rate of recurrence and poor outcomes as a result of relapse. Bladder cancer patients require lifelong invasive monitoring and treatment, making bladder cancer one of the most expensive malignancies. Lines of evidence increasingly point to distinct genetic and epigenetic alteration patterns in bladder cancer, even between th...

Liquid Biopsy as a Minimally Invasive Source of Thyroid Cancer Genetic and Epigenetic Alterations

In the blood of cancer patients, some nucleic acid fragments and tumor cells can be found that make it possible to trace tumor changes through a simple blood test called “liquid biopsy”. The main components of liquid biopsy are fragments of DNA and RNA shed by tumors into the bloodstream and circulate freely( ctDNAs and ctRNAs). tumor cells which are shed into the blood (circulating tumor cells...

Genetic and Epigenetic Alterations in Pancreatic Carcinogenesis

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the most lethal cancers worldwide. Despite significant progresses in the last decades, the origin of this cancer remains unclear and no efficient therapy exists. PDAC does not arise de novo: three remarkable different types of pancreatic lesions can evolve towards pancreatic cancer. These precursor lesions include: Pancreatic intraepithelial neo...
